Welcome to the Food Safety Subgroup.  Whether you view food safety as an outbreak mystery plot or a cautionary tale for prevention of food borne illness, this is the group that shares your passion for providing safe food to the public. 

This is an exciting time for food safety with the implementation of a major food safety law, renewed support of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics-ConAgra consumer education sponsorship for the Home Food Safety program, and a new version of the FDA model Food Code released in late 2013.  There will be many more opportunities for dietetics practitioners to be active in the food safety arena.
