Susan T. Borra Advancing Food and Nutrition Communications Fellowship Award Applications Accepted

Friday, July 12, 2019 - Sunday, September 01, 2019

The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Foundation (Foundation) is accepting program host applications for the Susan T. Borra Advancing Food and Nutrition Communications Fellowship Award. This updated award will provide an individual with the opportunity to serve as a short-term fellow with a successful nutrition communications RDN working in a food environment.

This award has a two-part application process:

  1. RDNs in nutrition communication roles who are interested in hosting a fellow can apply to serve as a fellowship provider. Fellowship provider opportunities deemed appropriate by the review committee will then be included in the second part of the application.

  2. Dietetic interns, nutrition graduate students, and RDNs who are interested in serving as a fellow can apply. Applicants will specify their first, second, and third choices of fellowship providers.

Applications are currently being accepted for nutrition communications RDNs interested in providing the fellowship opportunity. The fellowship recipient will receive a $2,500 award, and their selected fellowship provider site will be able to apply for up to $500 in reimbursement for any fellowship-associated costs incurred.

Fellowship provider sites not selected by the recipient will be provided with the names, applications, and contact information of applicants who had specified the provider as their first choice. Non-selected fellowship provider sites will then have the opportunity to reach out to those applicants to arrange their own paid or unpaid fellowship/internship experiences if they so choose, although no Foundation funding will be provided in this case.

The application is available within the Foundation’s application portal. The deadline to apply is Sunday, September 1, at 11:59pm (Central Time).
