FCP Webinar: Making Family Meals a National Priority

National Family Meals Month™ was first introduced by the Food Marketing Institute Foundation in September of 2015 as a way for food retailers and suppliers to help families share one more meal together each week at home. With busy schedules, multiple household shoppers and most shoppers not knowing what they will be preparing for meals until the last minute, grocers are in a unique position to help make family meals simple and obtainable.  This national campaign has quickly proven to be triple-win, with retail dietitians clearly in center stage.
Susan Borra, RD, Chief Health and Wellness Officer, Executive Director, FMI Foundation, will highlight data that supports the societal and health value of family meals. Julie McMillian, RD, Vice President, Retail Dietetics at Hy-Vee, Inc. and Lauren Tulig, RDN, CD, Nutrition Communications Manager at Festival Foods will share their award winning 2016 National Family Meals Month™ campaigns.

At the conclusion of this webinar, participants will be able to:
• List the health and societal values of family meals
• Recall current trends in household meal behaviors
• Describe the barriers to, and solutions for family meal occasions
