Mushroom Council Nutrition Award-Stipend Program

The Mushroom Council is excited to partner with FCP to offer three members the chance to receive a $1,000 award/stipend to support their work of promoting vegetable consumption.
This is an opportunity to inspire ideas and behavior through education, including the health benefits of mushrooms.
The award/stipend is designed to support efforts by FCP members to help their communities eat right by teaching them about food, nutrition and cooking.
Congratulations to the grant recipients!
Stephanie Green, MS, RD, director of The Five Minute Market Chef team, will use the award money to expand her current sampling and education program for Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts at her local farmers market on Saturday mornings in Scottsdale, AZ.
Barbara Storper, MS, RD, Founder and Executive Director of FoodPlay Productions, wants to get kids excited about vegetables. She will use the award to make mushrooms kid-friendly by developing the “Mushroom” portion of her pre-established “Veggies Got Talent!” campaign script kit and “America’s Next Top Vegetable” social media contest.
Meghan Windham, MPH, RD, LD of Texas A&M University aims to teach college students how to eat right through her My Cart, My Plate and My Mushrooms program. Components build off of each other to take the college student from the supermarket to the kitchen and include guided grocery store tours, cooking demonstrations and a recipe contest.
