FCP is pleased to share information on the Supermarket Business and Industry Skills to Thrive: Certificate of Training Program by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.

Dietitians completing this Certificate of Training course will learn from peer presenters that have more than 50 years of combined experience working as dietitians in retail.The training will help participants develop a business/retail mindset to successfully apply their nutritional expertise to the business of food retailing.  

The development team was comprised of four experienced Retail Dietitians--Shari Steinbach, Healthy Living Manager at Meijer, Ellie Wilson, Senior Nutritionist at Price Chopper, Julie McMillin, Assistant vice president of Retail Dietetics at HyVee and Karen Buch, former Director of Lifestyle Initiatives at Weis Markets and now Consultant, specializing in retail nutrition marketing and communications, together with Cathy Polley, Vice President of Health and Wellness at Food Marketing Institute and Annette Maggi, Executive Director of Retail Dietitians Business Alliance and current Chair of FCP—all of whom volunteered to share their time, knowledge and experience in this effort to educate and assist nutrition professionals wishing to build skills to excel in this unique and growing area of practice.

Judy Dodd, former president of the Academy and retail dietitian consultant, organized the development process and this amazing group of professionals on the development task force!

The level 2 Certificate of Training program consists of four separate modules that build on each other.

To receive the certificate associated with this training, you must complete all four modules and post-quizzes and pass the overall post test (after Module 4) with an 80% or higher. 8.0 hours of CPEUs are available.
